It happened

27 July 2011

  • Temples Day #1
  • Went back to the hotel
  • Almost swam in the pool
  • Watched the typhoon destroy Legaspi City on CNN
  • Asked the hotel receptionist about the whereabouts of the Angkor Night Market
  • Walked and found the Angkor Night Market (YEEEHHHESSS)
  • Realized that a good working knowledge of the French language is useful for going around Cambodia

  • Bought some souvenirs (really cheap!)
  • Found the makeshift movie theater (made from a container van, complete with air-conditioning and wooden seats)

(THIS IS THE PART WHERE I RANT ABOUT NOT BRINGING THE BETTER CAMERA AND ABOUT ACCIDENTALLY DELETING PICTURES FROM THE IPOD T.)

  • Almost got a let-the-fish-nibble-on-the-dead-skin-on-your-feet massage
  • Paid 6USD for two movies
  • Bought some noodles at a restaurant outside the movie theater
  • Bought a bottle of Coca-Cola from a lounge bar
  • Got freaked out at the solo attendance at the movie (Luckily, a couple joined in the middle of the documentary)
  • Watched Pol Pot: The history of a genocide and a documentary about Henri Mouhot‘s discovery of the Angkor
  • Walked back to the hotel

(Lesson learned.)
